It is regrettable that one cannot point to a particular place and describe where one grew up, because it has disappeared. This is something many Singaporeans and other city dwellers go through, since their childhood memories tend to be sacrificed due to rapid development in the name of progress, leading to a sense of 'unsettledness'. This movement is more than just nostalgia, as indicated by the significant influx of heritage projects emerging in Singapore. In the spirit of humanist photographer Henri Cartier Bresson, imaginem aims to be a community of thought in interpreting individuals, events and issues. imaginem is about visually transcribing one’s curiosity about what is going on in the world, respecting individual and shared experiences.
To keep stories of the society and its events, issues and personalities through visuals.
To be a public movement concerned about the happenings around the world.
